"SATC2 Movie & a Makeover" hosted by Chevrolet and Rik Rak Salon, Boutique and Bar!

On Thursday, May 27th, Chevrolet and Rik Rak Salon, Boutique & Bar hosted a special "Movie & a Makeover" event for bloggers in Miami. All of the fabulous ladies were invited to attend the salon for a little pampering before watching the anticipated premiere of Sex and the City 2! At the salon, Rik Rak provided complimentary manicures and blowouts for their guests. In my case, I received a serious case of volume and what I like to call: "va-va-voom." My hair looked amazing! For those who haven't checked out this Miami salon, you have to swing by one of their 3 locations (Brickell, Four Seasons Hotel and The Sagamore Hotel). Rik Rak, owned by Ric and Raquel Watters, is a full service upscale salon that features a full bar as well as a variety of accessories, apparel and shoes. It's literally a one stop shop! To find a Rik Rak near you or to see a complete list of services, visit http://www.rikrak.com/site/.

These are the lovely ladies I met last night at Rik Rak Salon. On the left, that's Jeile Marie from "Go Live Miami." Yours truly is dressed in purple and to my right is Annie Vazquez who writes for NBC 6 in Miami. Finally, to the right of Annie is Mrs. Sagz who writes a blog called "Your not so Desperate Housewife" and Mabel from Strictly MIA. Check out their blogs and get to know these ladies!

Rik Rak Salon, Boutique & Bar has awesome accessories!

Rik Rak's Boutique features unique garments throughout the salon.

These were all the ladies who came out to celebrate the premiere of SATC2 in Miami. On my right, check out my friend Mitch who writes her own celebrity gossip blog called "Mitch's Daily Dish." Upon our departure, we were whisked away in a chauffeured Chevy Tahoe to the movie theater on Lincoln Road. Thank you Chevy for a fabulous ride and cheers to an amazing experience!

At the movies, I saw plenty of fashionistas waiting for the big premiere. This is why I love Miami: the ladies are always full of style and sazon! Hope you enjoy your own SATC2 experience this weekend and feel free to share your reactions below.

This week: Brazilian Boutique, Osklen, Celebrates their Grand Opening on Lincoln Road!

On Wednesday, May 19th, Oskar Metsavaht, Founder and Creative Director of Osklen together with Daniella Sredni, Katya Segovia and Marcus Panthera (all pictured above: photo courtesy of Zoltan Photography) hosted a launch party for the new Osklen boutique on 1111 Lincoln Road. This contemporary Brazilian brand has over 50 stores in Brazil, Italy, Japan, Switzerland Portugal and the United States. The new flagship store on South Beach marks Osklen's second location in the states (kind of a big deal)!!!

The boutique features men’s and women’s collections, casual wear, accessories, shoes, handbags, jewelry and swimwear. Once you enter the boutique, you'll notice an amazing interior design conceived by Osklen’s design team under the supervision of creative director Oskar Metsavaht. Each wall has a pattern that mimics Rio de Janeiro’s iconic Ipanema beach sidewalk, the black and white geometric wave in Portuguese pavement. You have to check it out!

Guests Erika Cohen, Robert Wennett, Eva Hughes and Kelly Talamas (photo courtesy of Zoltan Photography).

Christiano Piquet, Nazare Metsavaht, Christina Coelho and Ricardo Coelho posed for a picture during the celebration (photo courtesy of Zoltan Photography).

This is definitely the newest Brazilian sazon to hit South Florida so take advantage and stop by for a visit. “A Miami location was always part of our long-term plans,” says Metsavaht, “Miami’s casual and sophisticated beach lifestyle fits in perfectly with the Osklen ethos.” For more information on Osklen or to see their collections online, visit www.Osklen.com.

Introducing Miami's hottest Lingerie Store: Journelle! Open for your shopping pleasure.

Are you ready for a new secret? This week, I discovered a sexy lingerie store on Lincoln Road where all of your favorite celebrities have been purchasing their most intimate apparel: Journelle. The store is designed for sophisticated women who enjoy wearing beautiful, unique and comfortable lingerie. Launched in 2007, Journelle has become one of the world's top lingerie stores, earning highest honors from Zagat. In Miami, the store appeals to fashionistas who are looking for the sexiest brands of undergarments including: Cosabella, Mimi Holliday, Stella McCartney, Chantelle, Elle Macpherson and La Perla. Once you enter the store, you can check out their latest spring collection along with a variety of beautifully crafted chemises, camisoles and robes.

You may even be lucky enough to meet the founder and CEO of Journelle, Claire Chambers (pictured above). Claire has been featured as an expert on InStyle, Nylon and "Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style." In 2008, she was ranked on Inc.com’s “30 under 30” list of entrepreneurs. After successfully launching Journelle in New York, the company is now focusing on Miami's teens and women.

At the back end of the store, you'll find the finer things in life like the most luxurious brassieres and shall I say it..."a naughty toys" area. Ladies, this store seriously has your needs on their mind at all times. In this section, you will find brands like La Perla which tend to exude the highest level of sex appeal.

This was one of the most interesting pieces I found at the store: a bra that provides lift while hardly covering a particular body part! A definite garment for my most daring and flirty readers. Yet another reason why I love this store: the unique designs found in each bra as shown above will make you want to try everything!

As far as the store's fitting rooms, they are designed to mimic the experience you will encounter at a spa. When you enter the fitting area, there are complimentary chocolates and water for you to relax and enjoy. Each spacious room contains a robe and a sofa as well as a bundle of disposable thongs. What a concept!!! This is not only an amazing hygienic move but it's an attention to detail you don't find in other stores.
If you would like to venture into the store for yourself, Journelle is located at 1109 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. Once you make your first visit, you will receive a coupon for $20 off your next purchase. Customers also receive a "Panty Card" which allows you to redeem a panty stamp during each of your visits. When you reach ten stamps, you receive a FREE panty (may not exceed USD $30). I already started my panty stamp collection...have you? For a complete list of lingerie brands or to shop online, visit http://www.journelle.com/. To all of the men who read this post: if you happen to visit the store with a lady friend, you can sit in the store's library (equipped with a comfy couch) or enjoy a lingerie show in the fitting room! xoxo

NYC Housewife, Kelly Bensimon, drops by Miami!

On Wednesday, March 24th, Kelly Bensimon attended "Alize Oasis" at the Raleigh Hotel on South Beach to enjoy the festivities during this year's Winter Music Conference. Kelly, model and cast member of Bravo's The Real Housewives of New York City, looked gorgeous as she arrived into the hotel's lounging area with her two daughters. Alize Oasis is a three day event hosted for exclusive guests including celebrities and DJ's. This special gathering also featured amazing music by Miami's favorite DJ, Mia Moretti! While I was there, I visited the Original Penguin Gifting Suite which was fully stocked with apparel and accessories from their latest collection. To check out Original Penguin, visit their store on 925 Lincoln Road or you may also go to www.OriginalPenguin.com. Here are some photos from the event and make sure you take advantage of this action packed week in Miami. Viva la musica!
