Mike Lowell's Christmas Party at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade

Today, Mike Lowell hosted a Christmas party for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade at their Hank Kline Club. When Lowell arrived, he greeted the children and participated in a Q & A session. The children were delighted to ask him questions about his career and his hobbies. Afterwards, he gave every child a beautiful Christmas bag full of toys. It was great seeing the kids opening their new presents and sharing their gifts with their friends. Even though Mike Lowell is no longer playing baseball with the Florida Marlins, he encouraged the children to pursue their dreams and to stay active in their community. When asked which team he enjoyed playing for the most, he replied, "It would definitely be the Coral Gables Cavaliers." Of course, everyone cheered because he showed great pride towards his high school alma mater! For more information about the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, please visit their website at www.bgcmia.org.

December= Must watch The Nutcracker!

It doesn't feel like Christmas unless you watch The Nutcracker. Get in the Christmas spirit by attending the Miami City Ballet's performance of The Nutcracker at the Adrienne Arsht Center or at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. This Broadway-like show is choreographed by George Balanchine and it features a cast of more than 100 dancers. I love hearing the classical music by Tchaikovsky because it takes me back to 8th grade when I danced as a fairy in my school's version of The Nutcracker (oh boy- that was the end of my dancing career)! Visit the Miami City Ballet's website for ticket information or for a complete list of shows http://www.miamicityballet.org/nutcracker.php. Happy holidays xoxo
